“What happened?”
“I’ll tell you when you get home.”
“You’re not going over there, are you?”
“I am.”
“Jelitta.”
“I’m not angry anymore.”
Mrs. Delaney’s porch light was still on.
By the time I reached her house, the candy bowl was nearly empty.
